7-Day Archery Elk Hunt in Livingston, Montana, USA

Early season archery during the rut — September bugling bulls

From $6,500

Guided by Beartooth Elk Outfitters · 5/5 (5 reviews)

September archery season is the most exciting time to be in elk country. Bulls are screaming, cows are everywhere, and the calling game is at its peak. Our archery hunts take place during the first two weeks of September when the high country is still green and the rut is building. Archery hunting in this terrain demands physical fitness and shooting skill. We expect hunters to be comfortable shooting out to 60 yards from kneeling or sitting positions. Shot opportunities in the timber tend to come fast. Same spike camp setup as our rifle hunts. Success rates average 55–65% for archery given the challenge of the discipline.
